We had an amazing break in the Nguni suite for 4 days. The view from the farm lodge is absolutely stunning and the rooms so beautiful. So much attention to detail throughout the farm lodge. All meals were fantastic and expertly prepared, with a great selection of wines and beautiful wine cellar. We went on the sunset game drive and experienced the most gorgeous sunset. Lidia took some amazing photos of us all. Lidia and David were great hosts. We were made to feel so welcome and were really sad to leave!

We had an amazing stay at Misverstand Boutique Farm Lodge! The beautiful setting, comfortable rooms, and warm hospitality made it a true escape from the everyday hustle. The food was delicious. David, Lidia, Ernest and the other staff went above and beyond to ensure a perfect experience. As someone who has over three decades of familiarity with various hotels, chalets, lodges and Airbnb establishments in the Dome area, I must admit that I was highly intrigued by Lidia and David's invitation to a "Boutique Farm Lodge". Without question, Misverstand lives up to its label! From its building layout and location overlooking the spectacular ridges and valleys of the Vredefort Mountainland, to the gourmet cooking, excellent cellar and fascinating meal conversations with other guests and our hosts, David and Lidia have created a unique experience that combines boutique sophistication and individuality with their own warmth and generosity. When even the toiletries have an interesting and amusing backstory, you know that you will never be bored! Although only a short distance off a (well-maintained) dirt road, I was struck by the exceptional quietness of the setting which, together with the walking paths that allowed us to get up close to the kudu, gemsbok and hartebees and the Iron Age kraal ruins that dot the landscape, provided a wonderful balm and respite from big city life. Lidia and David, thank you for a wonderful experience!

A perfect stay with the wonderful hosts David and Lidia. A beautiful and high-quality house with many perfect details for the comfort of the guests.
Our room was the Nguni Suite with a beautiful bathroom, terrace with greenery view, lounge and an cosy big bed.
The breakfast was excellent, the dinner with nice conversations a class of its own. We had a Portuguese and an Indian meal with a very good selection of wines from the own cellar.
We felt very comfortable here every minute and we will definitely come back to this little paradise.

We visited “Misverstand” for a special family occasion. The opportunity to savour the absolutely unique architecture of the lodge and the beautiful setting (panoramic views of the “Koepel” and game farm) was already an incredible treat and dream come true! However, the added warm and generous hospitality of the hosts, David and Lidia - combined with their superb culinary skills – made it a stay that touched mind, body and soul. What a wonderful stay! The food was "fine dining" standard and David deserves accolades. The welcome by Lidia and Axel Rose(pet) warmed you immediately. The location and accommodation is unbelievably stunning. Very unexpectedly exceeded my expectations. The tour of the Vredefort Dome by Graeme Addison was the cherry on the top. Bucket list item!
